About the Site
Star Wars Is Love began in December 2010 as a Twitter account. Through Twitter, I had a chance to connect with fans from all over the world. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to branch out to other areas and I created an Instagram account as well as a blog. The blog was actually a personal blog where I would post about life and the various things I love. I sprinkled Star Wars posts throughout my blog, and as things tend to happen, the Star Wars posts began to take over. I finally decided to create a fully Star Wars themed space where I could fangirl about the galaxy far, far away to my heart’s desire, hence the creation of this site.
Hi, I’m Christina! I’ve lived in Southern California my entire life and as such I am a bit obsessed with Disney Theme Parks. I actually worked at Disneyland during their 50th Anniversary and The Year of a Million Dreams. It was my dream job and I look back on my days as a Cast Member with fond memories.
Since then, I’ve gotten married and moved to San Diego. My husband, Ben, and I have a 5-year-old son who is obsessed with dinosaurs, Disneyland, and of course, Star Wars.
Other than Disney, Star Wars has been a constant love and source of joy for me. I wasn’t always a Star Wars fan, but once I fell for it, I fell hard and have loved it ever since. Thankfully, my husband also loves Star Wars and supports my collection of Funko Pop! figures, obsession over TIE Pilots, and involvement in The 501st Legion. Which brings me to…
About The 501st Legion
Shortly after becoming a Star Wars fan, I started hearing about an incredible group of dedicated fans who built their own screen-accurate costumes and used them to do charity work while promoting their love for Star Wars. The combination of Star Wars and charity work was an instant attraction for me and I sought out more information. As it turns out, The 501st Legion is a worldwide all-volunteer organization which focuses on the “bad guys” of the Star Wars universe. They do a remarkable amount of charity work and can also be found at various fan conventions and other events. To learn more about them you can visit their official website and check out their FAQ page here.
I joined The 501st Legion in July of 2017 and have been busy “trooping” as often as I can. I currently have two costumes and am about to start working on my third and fourth costumes. Part of the purpose of this site is to share about the fun events that I get to do as a member of The 501st; you can read my posts about the troops that I am part of under the Troop Report category. Please feel free to comment and/or contact me if you have any questions about the troops or ideas for future blog posts; I love connecting with other fans and sharing in our common love for that galaxy far, far away!
